Nice…Thanks for sharing these screens with us bro, this is by far the best evidence of dragons in GW I have seen. Thanks for adding it to our thread.

I beleive the Dragon in Drakkar requires Texmod to see it properly? May be wrong.

You can see it without Texmod, but the ice is shiny and makes it hard to see. There was a guy somewhere in Guru (maybe in SS Forum?) who had a bad graphics card that allowed him to see through the ice very clearly to the Drakkar and took some nice pics. But I was able to see the Drakkar and I am running GW on semi-high settings.

Didn't know about the dragon in UW. That is awesome as hell, because that could mean that the Gods also have to deal with the ancient dragons and we finally get to see the Gods in their true form: kicking ass, not just sitting back and watching the show like they did in GW1.

I think there are 2 super long dragons in UW, one with black color and the other one is brown. I think I've seen 2 heads and 2 tails too. Someone can confirm this.

Oh I just found this pic on Wiki:

Quote from wiki:

Quote:
It is a rugged mountainous area with wondrous sight of two gigantic serpents flowing all through the mountains. One is silver and the other is bronze and their heads are below the monument of Grenth where the Reaper of the Twin Serpent Mountains can be found, once freed.

Ohh, nice pic Burning Blade. I keep looking at the part on the wiki description you posted that says, "...once freed."

And Zodiak, now you make me want to play that. :P

What happened to all the awesome Prophecies lore? Did you guys forget it already?! FOR SHAME!

The two SERPENTS in the UW were once two beings who laughed at Grenth or something, they were punished by being turned into Serpents and being forced to crisscross through the mountains for all time.

I really need to read up more on the lore then! *ish shamed!* >.<

And if that's Prophecies lore, what are those twin serpents doing in Nightfall? Shouldn't it be more Nightfall lore then, instead of Prophecies?

Also if Grenth did that to them for all time, then why did the wiki say, "once freed"? Makes me believe either: Grenth changed his mind and let them out; Grenth's power somehow weakened and they were able to escape; someone else more powerful than Grenth freed them...

I'm going to read up on more lore. >.<

Well, since the Gods have basically vanished in GW2, maybe they get released there?

Since Grenth imprisoned the twin serpents in that way, is there lore of any of the other gods imprisoning dragons/serpents in a similar way? Knowing that would help in figuring out if the dragon/serpents were freed due to the gods not existing in GW2.

what is with every calling the one dragon "Drakkar", you don't know that is its name...Drakkar is an actual Nordic term for a longship as well right...Definately possible, but not confirmed in any way...

The Drakkar is in a GWEN Explorable Area called Drakkar's Lake. It can be seen through the ice in the lake and is freaking huge. Considering that it is in GWEN (when they started to develop the Ancient Dragon story) , it is highly likely that the Drakkar is the Ice Dragon that drives the Norn south.

The origins of the name

* Drakkar's name is possibly derived from the Hebrew words Drakon (Dragon) and Kar (Cold) which are quite fitting, given the dragon is frozen underwater.

* Drake is the Middle English word for 'dragon', from the Anglo-Saxon word draca. All sound very much alike.

* Another feasible root of the name is the Viking word for 'longboat', Drakkar, which often were built in the shape of a dragon.
From the wiki. Remember too that just because a word means something in the real world doesn't mean it means the same thing in GW. Official wiki comments :
Quote:
The "Drakkar" is an unofficial name for the dragon hibernating within the frozen Drakkar Lake.
Basically we're not gonna know til they tell us.

Thumbs down Wow

Hello my fellow guildwars players,
I'm Twandale and I'm the actual creator of the video.
Please allow me to explain some things..
I KNOW I have a bad graphic card and there's nothing I can do about that.. I just felt like making this for my friends, I didn't expect someone to put it up here.. and those songs AREN'T "nu-metal"or whatever you call them , they're r-o-c-k songs.
Also , I know the tree has nothing to do with the dragons , but I didn't make the video just for the dragons, just wanted to show the people all the things they hid in GW1 that are assumed to come back in GW2.
I got all this information off of guildwiki, so if you terribly want to know more about all this look it up.
And, all these things are assumed to be in GW2 , I never stated that they are GOING TO BE in GW2.
Ah yes to the one who posted this.. thanks for the credits its much appreciated.

hmm, the tree to me looks like the tip of a dragon tale though. There is only leaves at the tip, and the tree has a mystical force that creates the Sylvari (Like Primordius with Destroyers?). You may not have meant it to be a dragon, but I think you've stumbled onto something.

Do you think you'd be able to dig up that thread? I can see the Drakkar fine, but the ice is really shiny and makes it a bit more difficult. i'd love to have a better look.
